Abstract
Carcinoid tumors are low-grade malignant tumors with neuroendocrine differentiation, usually located in the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts. Primary renal carcinoid tumors are extremely uncommon and there are less than seventy cases documented in the literature. Little is known about its usual presentation, pathophysiology, and prognosis. We report a case of primary renal carcinoid tumor in a 49-year old man, diagnosed via a hand-assisted laparoscopic radical nephrectomy. Pathologic findings of the tumor, clinical manifestation, and treatment are discussed.
